1956-1960 – The Rolex Milgauss 6541

Dial text had been consistent since the first 6543 with an applied coronet, ROLEX with OYSTER PERPETUAL underneath and MILGAUSS in red under that. SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED was printed in two lines above 6 o’clock. The straight seconds hand had a red arrowhead tip, while the familiar (kind of) Dauphine-style hands carried over, now with flat ends.
Subtle Variances
Although the 1019 remained fairly stable throughout its 28-year run, many subtle dial variances are notable. Starting with the minutes/seconds track, it went from a railroad track with five marks between indices to a more detailed half-hash mark design with a staggered series of long and short (half) marks providing ten marks between indices. Earliest models, however, had even more detailed 1/5 second marks and are predictably more collectible today. Early models also had square lume plots at the ends of indices, while round lume eventually became standard. The hands were polished with a central ridge for the first decade of 1019 production, shifting to a flat brushed style in 1970, although there was a mix of the two styles for some time, and all had tritium inserts.
“CERN dials” were silver ones without lume, removing all radioactive tritium from the dial at CERN’s request, leaving the hands with black enamel inserts. Then there’s the rare black dial models with a silver outer track and print (most black dials had white print). Both CERN and black/silver dials are very collectable (and expensive) today. A combination of rare and early features, like a black dial with silver print and square lume plots, is what collectors dream of. And finally, ROLEX was printed smaller on early 1019 dials through the late 1960s, while SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED curiously got smaller as ROLEX then got larger.
It wasn’t too uncommon for Rolex Milgauss fake watches for sale to sit on store shelves for a decade, so it was ultimately discontinued in 1988 as Rolex focused on more popular models. Similar to the Air-King, it would make a triumphant return after a seemingly permanent death. It was (once again) discontinued in early 2023.
Collectors
Similar to the Daytona, the Rolex Milgauss fake watches site was unpopular for much of its life, but now commands serious attention from collectors. The fact that it’s recently discontinued (at least for now) naturally makes it more desirable. Not bad for a recent Milgauss that’s more interesting aesthetically than a Datejust or Explorer, not to mention that the last retail price was around USD 9,100.
Jump back in time to ref. 1019 and things certainly change, even though it had a much longer run. Prices start between USD 25,000 and 30,000 for nice examples, but can quickly double for more desirable models or those in pristine condition. That’s certainly not outrageous for a collectible Rolex, but it’s still serious money. The Milgauss is an unusual and niche Rolex that served a specific purpose, not unlike the Submariner or Explorer, but a “watch for scientists” never quite resonated like a diver or adventure watch. Interestingly, it was discontinued for a second time when a model like the Air-King had thrived in its second life. Time will tell if a third comeback is in the cards.
However, considering the latest innovations in watchmaking, such as silicon parts, including the possibly highly-antimagnetic Rolex Dynapulse escapement, and the METAS certification (with the need to pass a 15,000 gauss test), the very relevance of the perfect China replica Rolex watches is questionable. A watch named Milgauss, or 1,000 gauss, has become completely obsolete in the current state of the industry. 2025 is a momentous year for Rolex timepiece enthusiasts because it sees the most important Geneva-based watchmaker unveil a totally new watch model. The Rolex Land-Dweller is the first major new Rolex creation since the rebranded Cellini — known as the Rolex 1908 — and completes Rolex’s trinity of “Dwellers” that already includes the Sea-Dweller and Sky-Dweller. Like all new Rolex model releases, the debut of the Land-Dweller was not without its fair share of mixed opinions and community sentiment, and the response to the first hands-on wasn’t much different. Not everyone likes all new Swiss made Rolex replica watches all the time, even if there is broad consensus that the Land-Dweller will be commercially successful, given Rolex’s demand dominance in the luxury watch space.

For as long as we have existed, humans have aspired to command the oceans and skies as much as the land. Products like the Sky-Dweller and Sea-Dweller allow us to imagine ourselves as superhuman, and fits in to the core psychology of what wearing a luxury timepiece means to the owner. The Land-Dweller name doesn’t do any of that and merely reminds people exactly where they are. In other words, it entirely lacks aspiration and drive. Land-dwelling is what we already do. While this perfect copy Rolex watches might be exceptionally well-engineered for this purpose, the purpose itself is hardly one that most wearers get that excited about. People will get over the lackluster nature of the Land-Dweller name, and the product will sell well. Let me briefly discuss why the 7135 is so exciting. In short, it should offer the most accurate performance over time while also being able to shrug off timing errors that can occur from environmental interference such as vibrations, changes in temperature, or magnetism. Rolex claims about one or two seconds of accuracy per day (which it does for other movements), but it is the stability of timing (isochronism) where the 7135 should beat out even other Rolex movements. At the heart of the Rolex 7135 is a brand new regulation system that Rolex calls its Dynapulse escapement. It entirely replaces the common Swiss lever system and includes both silicon and ceramic component technology. The 7135 also operates at a “high beat” frequency of 5Hz, versus the 4Hz speed of most other Rolex movements (and has a power reserve of three days). Like the Rolex 1908, the Land-Dweller is among the newer cheap Rolex super clone watches CA to feature a display caseback, so you can finally admire their movements. This simple dial belies the Explorer’s field-watch DNA, presenting white lumed-filled indices on a black background for easy legibility. With no date or further complications, and only minimal text detailing the Rolex logo, brand, model and the watch’s “Superlative Chronomenter” chops, there’s little to clutter the dial.
If you were looking for straps from Rolex, you’re out of luck as the only option here is a brushed steel Oyster bracelet. It’s a classic Rolex bracelet, only on the 36mm Rolex Explorer fake watches for men it has a fairly dramatic taper, going from 19mm from the case to 14mm at the clasp; to some it could feel a tad dainty, but I enjoy the slimness. How did you react when you saw the steel watch with the black and gray bezel and green GMT hand? I registered it, but it didn’t hit me like previous versions, including the black and green “Destro” or the previous year’s versions in yellow gold and Rolesor. The watch made me wonder what was new. It looked like something that had been in the catalog for ages. That’s not necessarily bad. Staple products are the backbone of a brand that continuously keeps a revenue stream going and acts as the soul. But I didn’t see or feel a lot of soul in the 126710GRNR.
Furthermore, the moniker “Bruce Wayne” could stem from the understated black and gray attire, but it could also be something else. I see GMT-Master II ref. 126710GRNR as Christian Bale playing Bruce Wayne. The predecessor of the 126710GRNR was the 116710LN. This steel 40mm traveler’s high quality Rolex replica watches debuted in 2007. Despite the monochromatic look, the bezel is more present than a full-black one. Consequently, the green hand fights with it for attention, and I don’t like watching a fight. The color of the hand matches the writing on the dial, but I feel that the words “GMT-Master II” should have been the only green element, and the GMT hand should have been white. But even though this would be a good look, it’s not what my preferred Bruce Wayne would wear.
Bruce Wayne deserves a better watch
When I write that Bruce Wayne deserves a better watch, I don’t mean that in terms of specifications. Let me kick off with my favorite, the 14060M. This is my favorite for the familiar reasons you have probably read many times. The five-digit Submariner bridges the divide between vintage and modern Subs. It marries the reliability of a modern one with the more elegant proportions and aesthetic of vintage subs. The 14060M wears smaller than a modern Submariner, and its aluminum bezel insert makes it significantly less shiny. These subtle details conspire to make this generation fly more under the radar than its successors. Contrary to those, the 14060M does not draw as much attention to itself. Unless you want your cheap replica Rolex watches to shout that you’ve made it, that is a good thing.
The 14060M is a minor update of the earlier 14060. It features an updated movement (cal. 3130 versus 3000) with a full balance bridge and a larger balance wheel with an antimagnetic hairspring.
The trade-off is primarily visible in the bracelet. This older generation (1998–2012) features hollow center links and a thin clasp made of pressed sheet metal. Don’t mistake this for a weakness, though. They are built to survive. They just don’t have that lovely bank-vault-like feeling of modern Rolex bracelets. Pre-owned Rolex Submariner #2: Ref. 114060

For starters, this generation features the so-called Super Case. The lugs stand so wide that I tend to think of it as a tapering rectangular watch with a circular bezel and dial in the middle. But everything else is turned up to eleven as well. The hour markers grew, as did the crown guards and the clasp. Last but not least, you now get a ceramic bezel insert. On the upside, it does not scratch or fade. To some, its bright shiny surface is a downside, but this is a matter of taste.
These younger (2012–2020) pre-owned wholesale Rolex Submariner super clone watches fetch higher prices. Still, you can find a great one under €10K in today’s market. A German dealer is offering this one for €9,690.
Pre-owned Rolex Submariner #3: Ref. 124060
Here, we enter the current generation of AAA replica Rolex Submariner watches CA. Introduced in 2020, ref. 124060 had one massive, watch-world-shocking feature — an upsized 41mm case. It is not unlike the internet to overreact, but in reality, the 41mm spec results from a mere 0.3mm increase. This pushed the rounded-up diameter from 40mm to 41mm.
That’s not to say the case did not change. Rolex brought back some of the elegance of earlier generations with clever fine-tuning of proportions. Caliber 3130 finally made way for its replacement, caliber 3230. The new movement offers a 70-hour power reserve and consists of 90% new parts. There were some initial reliability issues, but those seem to have been resolved.
